PENOMBRA

An interactive installation of Gabriel Prokofiev ’s 'HOWL! II - Separation' and 'HOWL! IV - Pulse' explores liminality and permeable boundaries. Surrounding Prokofiev's work, direct quotes from anonymous and named respondents to questions posed by the curators via a website. The answers provide diverse and unfolding perspectives and narratives from local and transnational perspectives on understanding (in)visibility.

What happens when we opt into a temporary sharing of (in)visibility?

A sonic realm transformed by sensors detecting participants' actions lies at the heart of this encounter. Participants in this encounter will be able to ruminate on (in)visibility alongside Prokofiev and his works, contemplating the (in)audible through discussion of and with the (in)visible. Layering understandings of (in)visibility alongside the layers of sound, you are invited to step in and out of both.
